Don't cul-de-sac us.

The City closed SE 17th at Las Olas as a six-month test. Fifteen months later it is still closed, and a one-way SE 16th is next. Every car that used to leave that way now comes down SE 15th, SE 2nd Ct, SE 2nd St and SE 1st St. Those streets were never asked.

  1. Petition A asks: Reopen the SE 17th Avenue exit at Las Olas.
  2. Petition B asks: Keep SE 16th Avenue two-way.
  3. Both ask: Study the whole neighborhood before closing anything else.

Public comment is open to anyone who lives, owns or works here. You do not have to speak. Being in the room is the point.

Sign the petition

Owners, renters and businesses in Colee Hammock and the neighborhoods around it. One signature per adult. Online names are counted separately from ink signatures so nobody can say the count was padded.

Write to the Commission

An email with a street address and three specific asks gets counted. Copy the paragraph, add your name and street, and send it to all five.

I live at [your street address] in Colee Hammock. I ask the Commission to (1) reopen the SE 17th Avenue exit at Las Olas Boulevard, (2) keep SE 16th Avenue open to two-way traffic, and (3) commission a traffic study of the whole neighborhood before any further street closures or one-way conversions. Since the 17th Avenue closure, that traffic uses SE 15th Avenue, SE 2nd Court, SE 2nd Street and SE 1st Street, streets that were never asked. Thank you. [Your name]
